Land Rover 80" Series 1 Softtop 1951 LHD - 42years barn stored!
Land Rover 80" Series 1 from 1951; LHD; 2 ltr petrol engine. Barn find; this vehicle stood 42 years in a barn by it's last owner! The vehicle is in very original and good condition. The 2 liter engine starts well and runs nice. The car does drive; gearbox and steering feels nice but not tested on the road as the brakes don't work. The chassis looks nice and solid; no welding done in the past but some little repairs needed (bottom rear crossmember / RH main rail). Bulkhead is in very good condition with little rust and only minor repairs in the past. Bodywork is nice and straight and the car is very complete and unmolest. The Landrover was originally supplied to the Belgium Gendarmerie in Dark Blue; belgium CKD built but not a Minerva! Traces of the dark blue is still vissible as some special features for the Belgian Police. The car has Dutch Documents but need reactivating due to the long standing. Nice project.
